Are you looking to repower your Australian Classic Runabout?
Previously, Tohatsu Outboards have had a short shaft 50hp available. However, it was only a tiller steer and manual start. It was mainly imported for the Thundercat racing fraternity. See the youtube film below.

Now Tohatsu have a 50hp model available to the Australian market which can be ordered with a short shaft (yep 15 inch), remote steering, remote control and electric start if desired.
The price is approx $5900 and that includes a fuel tank, prop, control box.
Transom bolts and control cables are extra.

See http://www.tohatsu.com.au/m50.htm

"The Board" may be able to offer a saving if you are interested in one of these. Just leave a message under this heading and we will contact you.
