Hi all,
I have just picked up my fathers Savage Escort, 1965 Model. This boat has been in the family for years and is still in reasonable condition but the floor is soft and leaking at the front. Windscreen crazed etc. I am sorry to say that we replaced the Johnson Golden Meteor 100 hp motor some years ago. For those  that know these had an electric shift and the spring that holds the motor in gear broke. It was still running strong but we had access to a cheap 135hp 1974 Johnson so we retired it. Being a bit of a bower bird and having been the original mechanic that fitted this boat out new in Sorrento in 1965 dad held onto the old motor for years, also a brand new prop in the box! I am sorry to say that he could not find anyone interested in the stuff and recently moved house and binned the lot.I am very sorry now that I have seen your forum. He thinks he still has some other "old" outboard parts.I will post details if we find anything of interest. I intend to fix the old girl up, but the motor needs basically a "trunk" in good nick if anyone knows where I can go for this would be appreciated. Powerhead, gearbox and trim all in working order. Salt has stuffed mounting point and pivot point. Any help or info on Savage escorts appreciated.
Cheers,
Tim.
