Thanks for that Will,

I'll follow the progress on this thread, I'm in no rush. They look really good, it sure beats searching for original ones!

Hi Cherry_crosby,

Just wondering if you have had the logos made up yet or not? I've been on the look out for logos for my restoration but have had no luck. I would be keen to get some made along with yours if it wasn't too much of a hassle.

Cheers

Thought it was about time for an update. Took a while to finish the prep work but it was worth the effort, Scotty painted her on Saturday and the photos don't do it justice, pretty happy with the way she turned out. The Merc is in pieces at the moment with a couple of snapped bolts in the block and a couple of busted pistons but I have confidence it will be up and running restored to its former glory soon.

Cheers

Not sure why it keeps posting upside down but like scotty said, we probably should get use to seeing it upside down with the 90 on it Smiley

Here's some pics of her final coat. Now its time to fit all the shiny stuff before she hits the water

Ha, it does look blue in the photo's I just looked at it on a different computer! I have a 63 merc 1000 Mercman, she is in bits at the moment though. I'm still just stalking ebay to find NOS gear for it, I have new decals and kiekhaefer emblems for her and some stainless trim that was a little more than scratched on my one. I'd like to replace whatever I can on her to bring her as close to new as I can.

Hey guys,

Sorry for the late reply but I wanted to add a couple of photos of her the right way up. We did 2 pack the hull, tried the best to colour match the original hull colour hopefully got it close, I'm happy with the way it came out anyway.
We're thinking the top should stay the original colour too so it will be the green you see here, but with a little more 'shine', should look good!

Will keep you updated with the progress  Smiley

Hey guys,

This is my first post to the board, I have a vintage Caribbean (not sure of the make so if anyone has any info it would be much appreciated) and thought I would post some pics of the restoration/customisation progress. The paint job was done by the board member 'Scotty' and she's come up a treat!
The boat in the background of one of the photos is an original glasscraft, owned by steve, which is soon to get its paint job.

I will post more pics as we progress

Cheers
